TIME: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

TOPIC: Animation Design Using Delphi

The Vancouver Delphi Developers Association is pleased to present John Williams a member of the Seattle Delphi Users Group. John is an M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine (1990), and has a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1977). John wrote a thesis: "STICKS -- A New Approach to LSI Design" (Design Automation system for symbolic VLSI integrated circuit layout with automatic compaction to design rules). His thesis supervisor was Patrick Winston (Director: MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory)

John Williams will be presenting animation design using Delphi. His first project with Delphi was the keyframe animation system for the movie Anaconda. This project started with Delphi 1 and then switched over to Delphi 2 (as soon as it was released) just before the movie began filming.

Presentation Overview:

  • Short video of movie clips (including Anaconda
  • Demo of Anaconda keyframe animation design system.
  • Demo of hydraulic motion base animation design system/controller Demo of 3D printed circuit board viewer
  • Demo of simple 2D paint program with discussion of source code.
  • Brief overview of OpenGL programming. Demo and discussion of the use of GLScene/Delphi for OpenGL based applications.

This will be a great presentation to attend if you are interested in animation and the capabilities that Delphi has to offer for OpenGL based applications.
