March 1999 Meeting

Hi All,

The date for the next VDDA Meeting will be Tuesday, March 16, 1999. Our Guest Speaker for this meeting will be Mike Tossy, Director of Database Strategy and Business Development for Borland.com. This presentation will be on the embedded InterBase database, and What's new in InterBase 6. Also featured will be an update on borland.com, as well as a question and answer session.

Mike has a strong background in relational databases. Shortly after leaving university, Mike joined, Client/Server RDBMS pioneer, Britton-Lee Inc., serving as a consultant, trainer, product manager, and finally technical services manager of the UK subsidiary. After its merger with Teradata, Mike became a sales program director. Immediately prior to joining Borland, Mike worked for startup companies in the fields of Data Warehousing and Data Mining.

Mike Tossy received a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He draws on his 20 years experience in the use of databases and computers during his presentations.

As always, the meeting will take place from 6pm - 8pm at the Liquor Distribution Branch on East Broadway.
