October 1998 Meeting

TOPIC: MKS Source Integrity

For this month's meeting, we have invited back MKS, the maker of MKS Source Integrity, to address our group on various source code management issues as they relate to Borland products. For this meeting, the technical demo will be performed using the Delphi 3 IDE integration.

MKS is based in Waterloo, ON and have customers based world wide. MKS Source Integrity Professional Edition is the easiest way for development teams, QA teams, and geographically distributed team members to speed time to market, manage multiple releases, and secure software assets. MKS's solution for SCM and defect tracking easily deploys across the enterprise to reduce administrative overhead and provide a lower cost of ownership. Easy-to-use features include Web-based access, build management, reporting, parallel development capabilities, integrations into leading IDEs, advanced security and administration. InfoCan Management is now a certified MKS training partner and solutions provider.

The presentation will be divided into 2 parts:

I. MKS Inc.
- Intro of MKS, the Corp
- Why SCM, and ROI of a SCM solution
- Features and unique compoments of MKS Source Integrity

II. Delphi 3-based Technical Demo
- Architecture
- Demo
- Security and Administration Module

There will be 2 speakers; 1 from MKS and 1 from InfoCan Management

Brian Besse, (brian@mks.com), Regional Sales, Vancouver BC, is responsible in selling MKS Toolkit, Source Integrity and Web Integrity software: configuration management (SCM) product lines and MKS Professional Services solutions. He has been with MKS in various sales roles for 4 years.

Tim Reekie, Systems Analyst, Vancouver BC has been designing and developing database systems for 9 years. Over the past 1 ½ years he has been using Delphi exclusively in an international environment. He has recently completed MKS training in Ontario and 2 months of extensive Source Integrity testing.

Also on hand from MKS, will be:

David Reed, Regional Field Engineer, Layfayette CA, provides pre-sales technical support to MKS prospective clients at seminars and tradeshows, as well as pre and post-sales consultation. Dave's works with the Regional sales managers in California and the Pacific North West. After 11 years in development of real-time systems he moved into Sales Support and Customer Support. His technical experience ranges from PC's to Super Minicomputers to Superconputers and Massively Parallel Systems. Dave been employed with MKS as a Regional Field Engineer for the last 2.5 years and has a degree in Applied Mathematics form California State Polytechnic University.

MKS has also graciously offered to sponsor refreshments/food for the evening. Door prizes will also be given away at the end of the meeting.
