This May, developers from all over Europe will gather once again in Arnhem (near Amsterdam), in the Netherlands for the 14 th Annual Software Developer Conference (formerly known as CttM). For 2 full days from May 30 to May 31, conference attendees can attend sessions which will invigorate their knowledge of Borland and .NET tools. Renowned speakers worldwide will be brought to Arnhem for this special event, including Michael Li, InfoCan Management's Chief Technology Officer. Be sure to mark your calendars and don't miss out on this exciting event!

Michael Li will be presenting the following sessions.

Understanding Web Application Threats and Vulnerabilities
Prerequisites: Familiarity with ASP.NET and .NET development. Working knowledge with Internet Information Server is highly recommended.

Security is something that should be considered from the initial design of a system instead of an after-thought. Attacks can range simply from satisfying the personal ego of a would-be hacker to stealing corporate assets or monetary gains. You cannot properly protect your applications unless you know where and what are the vulnerabilities. This hands-on session will take you through the types of threats and the 5 most common attacks known on the Internet to-date: DoS (Denial of Services), SQL injection, cross-site scripting, site hijacking and input tampering attacks. If you are not familiar with any or all of these threats, you own yourself and/or your employer this 75mins session to learn about your risk exposure.

In addition, two separate methods of documenting and modeling your current threat exposure will be covered. These techniques will help you properly identify and organize your mitigation priorities.

The techniques shown in this session are applicable to all web development projects regardless platform and languages.

Code examples for this talk will be provided in both C# and Delphi.NET.

Migration to Delphi.NET (Part 1 & Part 2)
If you are developing with Delphi today, you should be asking the following questions:

Should I upgrade to Delphi 2005?
What are the new features?
Should I port my Delphi applications to C# instead?
.NET is about 12-18 months away for me, what can I do today to minimize the transition later?

This session will address the following migration issues:

Architectural Considerations
.NET & Win32 Inter-operability
Compatibility Issues
VCL vs. VCL.NET
BDE/dbExpress to ADO.NET/BDP
DataSnap to .NET Remoting
Web Development transition
Borland Development Studio vs VisualStudio
Transition Planning & Techniques
Boundaries & Constraints

Building Dynamic Applications With Packages
This session will start with an overview between runtime, design time and custom packages. We will also discuss the difference between loading packages statically versus dynamically. We will conclude with demonstrations some practical techniques like business logic partitioning, multi-database vendor support, and self-patching application via the Internet. The session with conclude with demonstration of a fully functional TCP/IP based plug-in manager similar to Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate.
