InfoCan Management will be attending EKon 9 in Frankfurt, Germany. Held from September 26th to September 30th 2005, this 4-day event features speakers from around the world (America, Europe, and Asia) presenting topics on the latest development in .NET and issues faced in the region. The conference covers all the essentials of .NET. It not only focuses on the technicalities, but also applications in various industries.

InfoCan Management's Chief Technology Officer, Michael Li, has been invited to speak at this conference on the following topics:

PW3 - Harness the Power of ASP.NET (Whole Day Tutorial Pre-Conference Power Workshop)
Whether you are seasoned ASP developers or new to ASP.NET, this workshop is designed to fast-track your knowledge and show you how to harness the power from ASP.NET. This session will begin with an overview of the new ASP.NET support in the Delphi IDE. Topics include WebForm development, leveraging Web Services, creating Rich Server Controls, validation, access data, working with the DataGrid control, and DB WebControls. You will also learn how to improve performance with output caching, state management across server farm/garden, debug your applications and trace its activity, and configure and deploy ASP.NET applications. Code examples will be provided in both C# and Delphi.NET. Demonstrations will be given in Delphi 2005.

D10 - Build Data-Driven Applications in ASP.NET 2.0 (Regular Session)
ASP.NET 2.0 makes building data-driven Websites easier than ever by introducing declarative 2-way data binding utilizing data source controls, new data binding controls like GridView and DetailsView, SQL cache dependencies, and simplified syntax for data-binding expressions. This session shows what data access looks like in ASP.NET 2.0 and highlights some of the most compelling new features.

D11 - Tracing & Debugging in ASP.NET (Regular Session)
This session will showcase techniques in handling exceptions in a graceful and proper manner, built-in exception mechanism such as Page and Application error event handlers, writing to the Windows Event Logs, working with the Diagnostics namespace, walking the stack trace, error notification via email, working with customErrors, and more.

PW4 - ASP.NET - Security Best Practices (Half Day Tutorial Post-Conference Power Workshop)
This workshop will focus countermeasures for the common threats and best practices in creating secured ASP.NET applications. Topics include input validation, best practices when working with Microsoft SQL Server including the use of parameterized commands, stored procedures, accounts with limited privileges, Microsoft Windows authentication versus direct SQL Server logins, and proper handling and encrypting the connection strings. HTML-encoding, vulnerabilities with ASP.NET forms authentication and cookies management, state management with full encryption, DPAPI and password encryption, and more.

PW5 - ASP.NET - Caching and Performance Turning (Half Day Tutorial Post-Conference Power Workshop)
Performance is crucial to all software development. For Web developers, it is even more important especially given the possibility of limited bandwidth and traffic load. This session will showcase how declarative and programmatic caching can improve performance, tools for measuring performance, user controls, improve data access and other optimization best practices.
