This fall, InfoCan Management will be attending the 2005 European Borland Developer Conference 2005 in Amsterdam. Held from November 28th to November 30th 2005, this 2-day event features speakers from around the world (America, Europe, and Asia) presenting topics on the latest development in Delphi, .NET, C#, and more. With a wide range of tutorials and seminars to choose from, get the update on the latest products. InfoCan Management's Chief Technology Officer, Michael Li, has been invited to speak at this conference on the following topics: DL8 – FCL for VCL Developers (Level 1: For Beginners) For VCL developers, the new FCL (Framework Class Library) in .NET will surely be a new learning curve. This session will address common day-to-day topics like accessing network/user information, application object, application configuration files, serialization (XML & Binary), encryption, hasttables, SortedList, ClassHelper, formatting strings/dates/floats, and sending emails from an application. DL10 – ASP.NET, Security Best Practices (Level 1: For Beginners) This session will focus countermeasures for the common threats and best practices in creating secured ASP.NET applications. Topics include input validation; best practices when working with Microsoft SQL Server, including the use of parameterized commands, stored procedures, accounts with limited privileges, Microsoft Windows authentication vs. direct SQL Server logins, and proper handling and encrypting the connection strings, HTML-encoding, vulnerabilities with ASP.NET forms authentication and cookies management, state management with full encryption, DPAPI and password encryption, and more. DL11 – ASP.NET Validation Control (Level 1: For Beginners) In this session we will learn how to use the ASP.NET validation controls to validate user input, understand how and when validation occurs, server vs. client validation processing and different ways in providing feedbacks to users. Specicailly, we will showcase: RequiredFieldValidator, RangeValidator, CompareValidator, RegularExpressionValidator, CustomValidator and ValidationSummary. DL13 – ASP.NET Caching and Performance Turning (Level 1: For Beginners) This session will showcase the built-in performance optimization mechanism to ASP.NET; learn how declarative and programmatic caching can improve performance, working with Application Center and other tools to monitor and measure performance, caching and user controls, improve data access and other optimization best practices.
